Gymnasium Trittau
at a glance
"gymnasium" does not mean that
there are naked sportsmen around, as you can verify
in the pictures above. The word 'gymnasium' just
describes our school as being on the top level of
the three different types of secondary schools in
Germany.
'Gymnasium Trittau' is a secondary school and sixth
form for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils
is 10-19.
Number on roll: 900. Number in Sixth Form: 130.
Number of teachers: 60
School catchment covers approximately
100 square miles of rural settlements (44 villages).
Trittau is a small town of only 7.500 inhabitants
in the metropolis-region of Hamburg. It is an area
of weekend vacation for people from Hamburg, who enjoy
forests and lakes
in the vicinity of Trittau. The area traditionally
relies on middle class companies and belongs to the
economically best performing regions in europe. The
social background of our students ranges from unemployed
to millionaires.
